Franklin Township Fire Company outlines upcoming fundraisers, events for 2022

Franklin Township Fire Company has already set its sights on next year’s fundraisers.

Chris Lilly, president of the Franklin Township Fire Company Auxiliary, also outlined the fire company’s fundraisers for the remainder of this year.

Fundraisers

• Trunk-or-Treat will be held starting at 3 p.m. Sunday. Children will receive goodies, a hot dog and a beverage while they last.

• Nov. 23: Thanksgiving Filling Sale. The cost is $7 per quart. Anyone who would like to place an order should call Peg at 610-379-4614, or Lilly at 610-377-8573 by Nov. 18. Pickup is from noon to 2 p.m. at the fire company.

• Nov. 29: Pizza sale. The cost is $7 plain, or $8 pepperoni or extra cheese. Orders are due by Nov. 18. Anyone who would like to place an order should call Call Pam Pauker at 484-464-0645, or Whitehead at 570-778-9229. Pickup is from 1-3 p.m. at the fire company.

• Dec. 11: Cookie Tray Sale. Each tray contains a variety of 36 cookies and other goodies. They will be beautifully wrapped and ready for gift giving (or keeping). The cost is $14 per tray. The cookie variety may include any of the following: snickerdoodles, sugar, molasses cookies, peanut butter cookies, fudge, whimsies, thumbprint, cherry bells, Welsh or refrigerator cookies, specialty cookies, as well as cutouts and others. Orders are due by Dec. 6. Pickup is from 1-3 p.m. at the fire company. Anyone who would like to place an order should call Whitehead at 570-778-9229, or Lilly at 610-377-8573. Volunteer bakers should contact Whitehead or Lilly in advance and drop cookies at the fire company from 1-3 p.m. on Dec. 9 and Dec. 10.

Lilly said the officers and members are busy planning for 2022 events, including the popular takeout dinners, dances, pizza and filling sales, and a cookie tray sale.

In addition, she said there will be weekly Thursday night and high stakes bingos; a car show and breakfast; the annual block party and giant yard sale; and an indoor yard and vendor sale. Last but not least, plans are also in progress for participation in the annual Palmerton Festival.

“The volunteers and officers expressed their appreciation for all the support they’ve had from many individuals in the community as well as several organizations including the Bethany Wesleyan Church (Lehighton Campus), 4-H chapter, National Honor Society & the football team from LAHS, and the Lions Club,” Lilly said.
