A home was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon in Polk Township.

According to reports on the scene, no one was home at 520 Weir Mountain Road when the fire broke out.

The fire broke out shortly before 3 p.m. with flames showing through the roof. Firefighters from several West End companies responded.
