Three new teachers at the Carbon County Area Vocational-Technical School, Jim Thorpe, were hired by the joint operating committee of the school during last Thursday’s meeting.

Thomas Lesisko of Jim Thorpe was appointed commercial art teacher at a salary of $17,100, replacing Bradley Rosenau, who resigned in August.

Patrick Owens of Lansford was named a long-term substitute masonry instructor at a salary of $15,500 while Richard Sander will be on a sabbatical leave.

Cathy Smith, Lehighton R.1, was appointed disadvantaged-remediation in vocational education instructor at a salary of $15,500, succeeding William Davis, who also resigned.
