Three people hurt in Rush crash

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:07 p.m. Sept. 5 on Fairview Street in Rush Township.

State police at Frackville said the driver of one of the vehicles, Jonathan C. Christopher, 22, of Springfield, and two passengers, Anna L. Berger, 26, of Ridley Park, and Samuel G. Petter, 22, of Montoursville, were transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton by the McAdoo Fire Company Ambulance Association personnel.

The extents of their injuries are unknown, police said.

The incident happened when Christopher, driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, stopped his vehicle while traveling south on Fairview Street and pulled it onto the west berm.

Police said Amanda M. Canavan, 36, of Barnesville, driving a 2014 Subaru Impreza, failed to see the sidelined vehicle and struck it on the left-side back end.

After the impact, the Cherokee traveled about 10 feet before coming to rest facing southwest on the west berm.

Police said Canavan was cited for the incident.
