• A Carbon County man is facing charges in Lehigh County following an incident on Aug. 8.

State police at Bethlehem said at 8:27 p.m. troopers responded to the Weis Market, located along Route 873 in North Whitehall Township for a report of a man overdosing in the restroom.

On scene, troopers were met by a Weis employee who pointed out the man, who was now outside the main entrance.

The man was identified as Edward Maslanka, 26, of Nesquehoning. Troopers learned that he had an active warrant for his arrest issued out of Lehigh County. He was taken into custody and searched. Found in his possession were seven glassine baggies containing a white powdery substance suspected to be heroin. Troopers indicated drug possession charges will be filed.

• Troopers said charges of terroristic threats and simple assault were approved against Christoph Kilpatrick, 21, of Slatington. The charges stem from a road rage incident that began on Interstate 78 and Route 222, but then traveled to Hamilton Boulevard, in Lower Macungie Township. The listed victims of the incident were a 22-year-old female, a 35-year-old male and three juveniles, two females ages 10 and 4; and a male, age 13, all of Allentown.

• On Aug. 19 at 12:10 a.m. troopers responded to a domestic incident along Best Station Road in Washington Township.

As a result a 32-year-old woman from Slatington, who troopers declined to identify, was charged with simple assault. The victim was a 35-year-old man from Slatington.

Troopers said on Aug. 25 at 1:30 p.m. Jason Kendig, 51, of Slatington, and Kathleen Kula, 59, of Bethlehem, got into a physical altercation in the 5900 block of Opossum Lane in Washington Township. During the altercation Kula struck Kendig. Kendig then threw a bottle at Kula, striking her in the face and also striking her in the shoulder.

Both were charged with harassment - physical contact.
