Pocono Mountain Regional Police

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following:

• A crash on July 20 at 3:17 p.m. at the intersection of Salamanca and Helmock drives in Coolbaugh Township.

Police said their initial investigation indicates that Brian Garcia, 29, of Tobyhanna, was driving a 2000 Honda Civic on Salamanca Drive and approaching the intersection with Hemlock Drive. Witnesses said Garcia did not stop for a posted stop sign. George Dobson, 29, also of Tobyanna, was driving a Chevrolet pickup on Hemlock Drive at the time. He attempted to avoid a collision with the Civic but could not.

Police said both occupants of the Honda, Garcia and an unnamed passenger, had to be extricated from the vehicle. A medical helicopter was called to transported patients. Police did not indicate how many patients.

The crash is being reconstructed to determine contributing and causation factors.

• Pocono Mountain Regional police said on July 14 at 1 a.m. officers went to a residence along Runnymeade Lane, in Tobyhanna, to serve a warrant for burglary on Levi S. Lochan, 25, of Tobyhanna. Police made contact with Lochan, who refused to come out of the residence. Police were able to place him under arrest after several hours of failed communications.

Lochan was taken to the county prison in Snydersville on the warrant. New charges filed against him include flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest.
