East Penn discusses drainage, road work

Drainage problems are a concern for East Penn resident Tony Kresge. Roadmaster Brandon Bradford will look into possible solutions within the month.

Chairman William G. Schwab said he “needs the problem fixed” even though Kresge stated that “it won’t be a simple solution.”

The road crew has finished paving Sand Quarry Road and begun work on Bake Oven Road. Schwab said that the township “may need to look at (getting) a new tractor next year” since the current mower is older and needs repairs more often.

The township office’s air conditioner system is broken and the board unanimously authorized a bid of up to $10,000 for a replacement. Township Secretary Jillyan A. Sterling will contact three vendors and choose the best option.

The township will place a $50 ad in the 100th anniversary booklet for the Pennsylvania Association of Township Supervisors. This vote was not unanimous with Schwab and John Strockoz voting against the expenditure.
