Carbon woman gets state prison term for drug dealing

A Carbon County woman was sentenced to a state prison term on Monday morning after pleading guilty to a drug dealing charge.

Tonya Jean Napolitano, 38, of Nesquehoning, pleaded in two pending cases to one count each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, both felonies.

President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II sentence her to serve two to four years in a state correctional institution on the PWID charge and one to two years on the second count with the terms running concurrently.

She was arrested on the PWID count on April 12, 2019, by Jim Thorpe police and the county drug task force after a search warrant was served on her home in Nesquehoning.

Found in the home was 205 baggies of heroin/fentanyl along with a small amount of methamphetamine.

The second count stems from an incident on May 29, 2020, filed by Nesquehoning police when they picked her up on a warrant.

They seized her cellphone and found numerous calls made to arrange drug sales.

She was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, pay court costs of about $1,000, supply a DNA sample and pay court costs of about $1,000.

Her plea was made by video from the county prison where she had been held since her arrest. She was given credit for a total of 402 days already served.
