Lake Harmony FD is top winner
Lake Harmony Fire Company stole the show in the judging for the Diamond Fire Company’s 125th anniversary parade in Walnutport, Saturday.
Not only did the Lake Harmony Fire Company have five first-place finishes, it also was named “Best Overall Fire Company” in the line of march.
The judging for the awards was performed by the independent Delaware Valley Judges Association.
More than 100 pieces of emergency apparatus were featured in the line of march.
Fire Chief Ralph Lennon stepped aside and left other members of the department accept the awards. Lennon said he was proud of the showing by his department.

Best Overall Fire Company Runner-up - Lehigh Township.
Best Appearing 2011 to present year pumper - 1. Northampton. 2. Slatedale.
Best Appearing 2000 to 2010 pumper - 1. Palmerton Fire Department, 2. Greenawalds Fire Company.
Best Appearing 1990 to 1999 pumper - 1. Palmerton Fire Department, 2. Coaldale Fire Department.
Best Appearing 1980 to 1989 pumper - 1. Lake Harmony Fire Department, Engine 17.
Brush Trucks or Mini Pumper - 1. Germansville, 2. Lehigh Township.
Best Appearing Tanker - 1. Lake Harmony, 2. Mahoning Valley.
Best Appearing Pumper-Tanker - 1. Germansville, 2. Lehigh Township.
Best Appearing Aerial Ladder - 1. Lake Harmony, 2. Nesquehoning.
Best Appearing Elevated Platform (Tower Ladder Truck) - 1. Northampton, 2. Palmerton.
