State police at the Lehighton barracks said a woman suffered minor injuries in a crash at 4:11 a.m. Saturday on Beltzville Drive in Polk Township.

Police did not identify the victim but said she had injuries to her face, forehead, knees, neck and back and was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, for evaluation.

She was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima that left the roadway and struck two trees in the front yard of 328 Beltzville Drive. Police said the car caught fire and was towed from the scene.

Police said the woman was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. They said criminal charges are pending.
