May 18, 2005 - Northern Lehigh’s Andrew Geiger and Northwestern’s Megan Brown both win two gold medals on the first day of the District 11 Track & Field Championships. Geiger clears 6-0 to capture the Class 2A high jump and claims the discus with a throw of 134-8. Brown posts a time of 47.32 to win the 300 hurdles and also earns the top spot in the long jump with a distance of 17-3 1/2. Other area athletes to win gold medals include Tamaqua’s Derrik Keich (300 hurdles) and Isaac Dunkelberger (3200), Northwestern’s Dylan Stoelzl (pole vault) and Dana Stellar (3200), and Pleasant Valley’s Kati Dempsey (3A long jump).
