State police at Lehighton report on crashes

State police at Lehighton reported the following crashes:

• A two-vehicle crash happened at 7:03 a.m. on April 1 along Route 209 in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Amanda M. Taylor, 25, of East Stroudsburg, was driving a 2007 Subaru Impreza southbound and attempting to make a right hand turn and going too fast for conditions. Paul C. Tonkay, 50, of Kunkletown, was northbound in a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee when his vehicle was struck by Taylor’s Subaru. Both drivers had minor injuries and were treated at the scene by West End ambulance volunteers.

Taylor was cited for the crash.

• A driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 7:57 p.m. on March 27 along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Travis J. Schock, 22, of Lehighton, was driving a 2006 Saturn Ion southbound when he lost control. The vehicle struck an embankment along the berm, then came back onto the road and came to final rest along the shoulder.

Schock was not injured. He was cited for operation of a vehicle without official certificate of inspection.
