Neffs monthlong campaign of giving back begins today
The Neffs National Bank is organizing a monthlong campaign of giving back to the community in celebration of Community Banking Month.
The bank will host special events each Friday in April, with activities running the whole month:
• Today, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., community blood drive with Miller-Keystone Blood Center at Neffs location. Appointments and masks are required. Visit GIVEaPint.org Code 6590 to register. Limited space still available.
• April 9, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., adoptable pets from The Sanctuary at Haafsville, at the Neffs location.
• April 16, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Lehigh Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore “Stuff the Truck” at the Neffs location. Donate new or gently used household, furniture and construction items to support the ReStore. All donated good are resold at the Habitat Lehigh Valley ReStore. Money raised goes to their homeownership program in the Lehigh Valley building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
• April 23, 1-4 p.m., A shred event will be held at the Neffs location. Bring confidential and sensitive papers that include personal information. Restrictions apply; list available at neffsnatl.com. Quantity of material/documents accepted may be limited.
• April 30, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Customer Appreciation Day, free ice cream. Items available will vary, while supplies last. This event will be held at both the Neffs and Walnutport locations.
In April, stop in at Neffs or Walnutport locations and participate in these activities:
• Community food drive: Help support neighbors by participating in The Neffs National Bank Food Drive, accepting canned or nonperishable food, paper products, personal hygiene items, diapers, baby food, etc. No expired items.
• Pet item collection benefiting The Sanctuary at Haafsville: Donations may be brought to help fill the crate. Unopened food and treats, collars, leashes, harnesses, towels, paper products, latex gloves and cleaning materials. No items with stuffing like pillows, blankets etc. Visit thesanctuarypa.org for a full donation list.
• Kids Art Contest: Open to youth ages 12-and-under only. The event will be held all month at the Neffs and Walnutport locations. What does “Community” or “Home” mean? First prize of $25 deposited into their Neffs National Bank Kids’ Klub Account. There will be a winner in each age division (3-and-Under, 4-6, 7-9, 10-and-Over). Original art accepted: sketch, paint, chalk, draw, mixed media. Paper or canvas size not to exceed 8.5 by 11 inches. Art to be submitted starting today to display in the bank for judging.
• The Grocery Game: Guess the value of the items in the grocery cart and win a Giant gift card. The first person to submit a dated guess without going over the value will win. Guessing will be open in the lobby today through April 30. Winners will be notified and posted on social media. The Neffs National Bank will be donating the items in the cart as part of its Community Food Drive benefiting local food banks. The bank wishes to extend a thank you to Giant in Walnutport.
• The Neffs National Bank offers educational finance courses powered by its education partner, EVERFI. These courses help kids (K-12) gain valuable lifelong skills for their future. Youth can also participate in a National Financial Bee to win scholarships. Visit Neffsnatl.com home page.
