Tamaqua woman charged in attack

A Tamaqua woman is facing charges of simple assault, criminal mischief, harassment - physical contact, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

On March 23 at 5:16 p.m., borough police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Hunter Street for an assault. A man told police that while he was inside his home, Lauren J. Ritchie, 44, of Pine Street, came inside and tried to attack him with a butter knife.

The victim said that he defended himself and pushed her out in the garage from where she had entered. The man said some pushing in the garage occurred when Ritchie went onto the sidewalk and broke two windows, which were facing the street.

The victim said Ritchie went around the side of the house and urinated on the sidewalk of the victim’s property.

She went into the backyard to defecate on the grass area. A security camera of the victim showed the altercation happening in the garage and then Ritchie squatting down briefly in the backyard.
