Area state police report on the following crashes:

• State police at Bethlehem said a woman was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed and driving while her license is suspended after a one-vehicle crash at 5:19 p.m. Feb. 15 on Central Road in Heidelberg Township.

Police said the driver of the 2019 Subaru Outback, who they did not identify, failed to operate the vehicle at a reasonable speed, causing her to lose control of the vehicle. It rotated once and drove into the yard at 6749 Central Road where it became disabled in a snow bank.

Police said the vehicle was able to leave the scene under its own power after being freed from the snow. The lawn sustained minor damages, police said.

• State police at Bethlehem said a Slatington man escaped injuries when his vehicle went out of control on the snow-covered Airport Road in East Allen Township at 6:30 a.m. Feb. 9.

Police said Zebriah Brown-Stubits, 29, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala southbound on the “completely snow-covered road” and was traveling an uphill grade with a right curve when he lost control of the vehicle. It slid off the roadway and hit a guide rail on the west side of the road and then rotated clockwise and came to rest pressed into the same guide rail facing north.

The car had moderate body and mechanical damage and was towed from the scene, police said.

• A Monroe County truck driver fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and crashed in Luzerne County. State police at Hazleton said the crash occurred at 5:37 a.m. on Feb. 12 along Interstate 80 in Foster Township.

Troopers said Danny Escobar, 31, of Tobyhanna, was driving a 2020 International Harvester truck westbound in the left lane when he fell asleep. The truck went onto the left shoulder with the left bumper striking guide rail.

Escobar was not injured but the truck had to be towed. He was cited for careless driving.

• Jeremy S. Landis, 41, of Weatherly, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 5 a.m. Feb. 15 on Spring Mountain Road in Packer Township.

State police at the Hazleton barracks said he was driving a 2019 Volkswagen Passat south during wet conditions and was traveling too fast when he attempted to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Quakake Road. The vehicle slid through the intersection and struck a snow bank on the south side of Quakake Road before traveling into a cemetery where the car struck multiple tombstones before coming to rest.

The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.

Police said Landis was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
