Nesquehoning man faces charges after DUI crash in Foster Twp.

State police are looking for a Nesquehoning man who was driving with Fentanyl, norfentanyl, methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system.

Police requested a warrant for Darrin Joseph Bisher, 36, after he crashed into the woods in Foster Township on Interstate 81 Nov.10. Police spoke to Tara Doncses and Bisher, who was flown to Geisinger Medical Center Danville with visible injuries to his head, at the scene. Blood evidence, Fisher’s injuries, and damage to the driver’s side roof area pointed to Bisher driving the car, police said.

Doncses, who initially took responsibility for driving, said she didn’t want Bisher, who didn’t have a license and claimed was a heroin user, to get into trouble. Doncses later told police she was diagnosed with injuries after a visit to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Blood samples obtained by police for Bisher found he had the aforementioned drugs in his system the day of the crash.

Police charged Bisher Feb.4 with a felony count of accident involving death/person injury-not properly licensed, and one count each of DUI controlled substance, impaired ability, and summary charges of disregarding a traffic lane (single), failing to drive at a safe speed, careless driving-serious bodily injury, careless driving and driving without a license.
