A Weatherly man has been appointed as a district magistrate in Carbon County to fill an unexpired term.

Paul J. Hadzick, 31 Eurana Ave., will be sworn in next month to assume the duties of District 56-3-4, which includes the boroughs of Beaver Meadows, Weatherly and East Side and the townships of Packer, Banks, Lausanne and Lehigh. His office will remain at 54 Broad St., Beaver Meadows.

Hadzick will take over the duties of former district magistrate Andrew Moisey, who retired last July.

The nomination of Hadzick by Gov. Dick Thornburg was confirmed by the state Senate yesterday. His appointment will run through December of this year.
