February 18, 1970 - Mike Brockel, George Petrole and Daderko all win an individual first and participate on a winning relay in Tamaqua’s 58-36 victory over Wyoming Valley West. The meet is the season finale for the Blue Raiders, who end their first year of regular league participation with a 4-6 record. Brockel captures the 100 butterfly and is also on the winning 400 free relay. Petrole takes the diving and Daderko claims the 100 backstroke, while the two are also on the top 200 medley team. Tamaqua, coached by Jim Freed, also receives a first from Tom LeMasters in the 200 IM.
