GNLC presents Winter Restaurant Week

The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, presents Winter Restaurant Week, in the areas of Northern Lehigh, Northampton and Schuylkill County, beginning Sunday and continuing through Feb. 27.

Participating restaurants will offer “set-price” or “prix fixe” breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or dessert selections with both takeout, dine-in and curbside options.

“More than ever, our restaurants need our support and a Restaurant Week that is customized to their current business model,” said Kylie Adams, manager of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“By shining a spotlight on our local restaurants, many of whom had shuttered doors for parts of 2020, we’re hoping to bring new customers and new business to local favorites.”

The Thunderhead Lodge, for example, is a sign of that growth - located in Andreas, they are participating for the first time in 2021. Offering a $25 per person menu that features items such as short rib goulash, a tender beef short rib root vegetable stew served over creamy mashed potatoes, and chicken Francaise, they’re a delicious addition.

Similarly, the Berlinsville Hotel will be participating with a $22 per person deal, while the 19th Grille at Woodstone will offer special pricing on their customers’ favorites. Each restaurant was tasked with designing menus that presented both options that suited their current business model and served up a great representation of what their normal menus have to offer.

“Our region’s landscape is widespread and diverse, and our restaurants are no different,” Adams said. “From farm-to-table specialties and great pub food, we’re really excited to get out and try new places and revisit old favorites - all while supporting local. Especially when we’re all fighting through these gray winter months, it’s a great excuse to get out of the house and plan a night out with friends or family.”

Reservations are strongly recommended at each restaurant, especially with current government mandates in place. With most restaurants operating at 50% capacity, smaller restaurants are filling up quickly.

Calling ahead, if reservations are not made, is encouraged.

Adams added, “Breaking bread has always been a universal means of growing a community; pandemic or not, we’re excited to have so many great restaurants opening their doors to help our community get back to a sense of normal.”

With seven restaurants participating from throughout the Northern Lehigh Valley, the variety of restaurants are sure to please. Participating restaurants include: Curious Goods at Bake Oven Inn (Germansville), 19th Grille at Woodstone (Danielsville), Willow Street Pub (Coplay), Morgan’s Local Flavor (North Whitehall Township/Allentown), Thunderhead Lodge (Andreas), Point Phillips Hotel (Point Phillips) and the Berlinsville Hotel (Berlinsville/Walnutport).

“Our Restaurant Week concept has built so much momentum across the Lehigh Valley, continuing to grow from year to year. It is so much fun to spotlight our communities and all they have to offer! We have many hidden treasures in the Greater Northern Lehigh Area, and this is our time to showcase our participating restaurants, not only to our local residents, but to foodies across the Lehigh Valley,” said Jessica O’Donnell, EVP, Affiliated Chambers.

Notably, the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber will also be hosting their Tasty Bites Mix ’n Mingle Mixer at 19th Grille at Woodstone on Thursday to kick off the week; tickets are available and can be found at www.lehighvalleychamber.org/events.
