The National Weather Service is reporting an ice storm warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Significant icing is expected, with total ice accumulations of three tenths to one half of an inch with up to one inch of snow and sleet.

Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be extremely difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute on Tuesday.

Monday: A chance of sleet, mainly after 8 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 32. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.

Monday Night: Snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 11 p.m., then freezing rain and sleet between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., then freezing rain after 3 a.m. Low around 29. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tuesday: A chance of freezing rain before 8 a.m., then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 15. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 30.
