The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of Feb. 2, there were 4,410 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 850,488.
There are 3,280 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 650 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
As of 11:59 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, there were 125 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry, reported for a total of 21,812 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
Through Feb. 1, 1,024,615 doses of vaccine have been administered.
Local numbers
• Carbon County added 110 new cases since Monday for a total of 4,440. Three more deaths were reported for a total of 124.
• Lehigh County has 28,357 cases, an increase of 117 since Monday, with one more death for a total of 685.
• Luzerne County has 23,026 cases, an increase of 75. There were 3 more deaths, bringing the total to 638.
• In Monroe County, there are 44 new cases since Monday for a total of 8,683. Deaths remain at 244.
• In Northampton County, there are 131 additional cases, for a total of 23,716. Two more deaths were reported for a total of 575.
• Schuylkill County reported 11,280 total cases, 40 new cases. Three more deaths were reported for a total of 336.
