Driver who fled police sought in Schuylkill

A driver who fled two attempted vehicle stops in Schuylkill County is being sought by state police at Schuylkill Haven.

Troopers said on Jan. 22 at 12:05 p.m. troopers attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations along Route 125 in Tremont. Before troopers approaching the vehicle the driver fled. The vehicle continued to be operated erratically and at a high rate of speed down Interstate 81. The pursuit was discontinued for safety reasons, troopers said.

About two hours later the vehicle was seen along Route 61 in North Manheim Township. Again, when emergency lights and sirens were activated the vehicle began traveling erratically and at a high rate of speed through local boroughs. The pursuit again was discontinued due to public safety concerns.

The vehicle was determined to be a black Nissan 300zx. The vehicle has purple trim around the bottom and a red Transformers decal on the rear above the registration plate.

The suspect is a white man approximately 45-60 years in age. Hair is long in length worn in a ponytail with a clean shaved face.
