Schuylkill woman sentenced to more state prison time for drug dealing

A Schuylkill County woman, currently an inmate in the state correctional institution at Muncy, Lycoming County, was given more state prison time Tuesday after pleading guilty to drug charges in the Carbon County court.

Latia Tatyana Nahf, 28, of Tamaqua, pleaded guilty in two pending cases to one count each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance - heroin, and possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine.

She was arrested on the PWID on May 14, 2020, at Patterson and Centre streets by Lansford police. Her arrest was part of an ongoing investigation by the county drug task force into drug dealing in the county. The second arrest occurred on June 17, 2020, also by Lansford police in the area of West Ridge Street, following a vehicle stop.

She is currently serving a 15 to 35 month term in Muncy imposed in Schuylkill County. She has completed her minimum term but continues in the state system completing a drug program.

President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted the pleas and sentenced her to serve two to four years in a state prison on the PWID count and six to 12 months on the possession charge with the terms running concurrent to each other. The terms also run concurrent with her Schuylkill term, meaning she still has two years to serve. She was also ordered to pay court costs of about $1,000.
