COVID-19 has been diagnosed among county employees and Schuylkill County Prison inmates and staff.

Two more Schuylkill County employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

Doreen Kutzler, interim human resources director, said the symptomatic employees are in quarantine. Contact tracing has been done resulting in two additional employees exposed who are in quarantine.

Seven employees previously in quarantine have since returned to work

As of today at the prison, one employee has COVID-19. Fourteen inmates have it.

The county prison continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19. Steps are being taken to ensure the safety of staff, inmates and the public.

Prior to or on Jan. 19, 13 inmates will finish their quarantine.
