Wanted Lehigh Twp. man charged in domestic incident

A Lehigh Township, Northampton County, man was jailed on Monday following a domestic incident involving a gun.

Township police said officers responded to the 4100 block of Wood Drive at 12:11 p.m. for a domestic assault in progress.

A woman said Daniel Engroff, 43, who she identified as her boyfriend, had a gun and struck her in the neck. Engroff voluntarily surrendered to police without incident. He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Easton after failing to post $10,000 bail.

Police also noted that Engroff had an outstanding warrant from Carbon County, where he is facing charges for identity theft.

Township police were assisted by officers from Moore Township and Walnutport.
