Expect some delays on Palmerton ramps

Motorists should be advised of ramp closures between the Route 248 ramps at Delaware Avenue in Palmerton as part of a resurfacing project that is underway.

The project being overseen by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will run through Nov. 21 and will result in various ramp restrictions at the Route 248 ramps in Palmerton for work related to the ongoing Route 248 resurfacing project.

• Nov. 9: Delaware Avenue to Route 248 west closure 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Nov. 15 (6 p.m.) to Nov. 17: 24-hour closures beginning at 6 p.m. on Nov. 15, Delaware Avenue to 248 east, eastbound 248 to Delaware Avenue;

• Nov. 18-19: 24-hour closures westbound 248 to Delaware Avenue, Delaware Avenue to 248 west.

• Nov. 20 and ending at 6 a.m. Nov. 21: Delaware Avenue to 248 east, eastbound 248 to Delaware Avenue closures.

Detour information is as follows:

• Delaware Avenue to 248 west. Detour: Take entrance to 248 east to Route 145 to westbound Main Street in Walnutport Borough to Route 873 north to 248 west.

• Delaware Avenue to 248 east. Detour: Take entrance to 248 west to Bowmanstown exit to Bank Street to Route 895 to 248 East.

• Eastbound 248 to Delaware Avenue. Detour: Continue to 248 east to 145 to westbound Main Street in Walnutport Borough to 873 north to 248 west to Delaware Avenue exit.

• Westbound 248 to Delaware Avenue. Detour: Continue west to Bowmanstown exit to Bank Street to 895 to 248 east to Palmerton Exit at Delaware Avenue.
