State police at Fogelsville reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 6:19 p.m. on Oct. 9 at the intersection of Route 309 and Gun Club Road, in Lynn Township, Lehigh County.

Troopers said Ashley R. Heckman, 29, of Danielsville, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice northbound on 309 when her vehicle began to stall. She then pulled onto the northbound shoulder. Edwin L. Ziegler, 66, of Slatington, driving a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta, was also northbound and in the passing lane. Troopers said Heckman suddenly made a left turn from the shoulder of 309 toward Gun Club Road directly in front of Ziegler. Ziegler’s vehicle then collided with Heckman’s.

Heckman had a suspected minor injury and was treated at the scene by Cetronia ambulance personnel. Ziegler and his passenger, Jean M. Ziegler, 72, same address, were not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Heckman was cited for the crash.
