Pa. records 200,000 COVID-19 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed Wednesday that there were 2,228 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 200,674.

There are 8,718 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 22 new deaths reported. County-specific information and a statewide map are available on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 25,717 resident cases of COVID-19, and 5,561 cases among employees, for a total of 31,278 at 1,056 distinct facilities in 63 counties. Out of the state’s total deaths, 5,757 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. Approximately 12,188 of the state’s total cases are among health care workers.

Carbon County is reporting 587 cases, an increase of six cases. An additional death has been reported for a total of 30.

Lehigh County is reporting 6,593 cases, an increase of 52. Deaths remain at 365.

Luzerne County reported an increase of 64 cases, bringing the total to 5,337. One additional death has been reported for a total of 198.

Monroe County has seven new cases, bringing the total to 2,020. Deaths remain at 135.

Northampton County has 5,393 cases, an increase of 52 cases. Deaths remain at 311.

Schuylkill County has 2,015 cases, an increase of 40 cases. Two additional deaths have been reported for a total of 88 cases.
