Dump truck rolls over, driver sustains minor injuries

A driver escaped with minor injuries after he rolled his dump truck during a one-car crash Tuesday morning in Palmerton.

Palmerton Police Department was dispatched at 10:04 a.m. for a report of a dump truck that had rolled over by Golf Road at 831 Edgemont Ave.

Upon arrival, police found a truck from Jhonatan Trucking LLC, of Belleville, New Jersey, on its side, according to Detective Kevin Buck.

Buck said the truck was turned on its side across the roadway after being stopped by a tree when it came down.

He said the truck came down a road it wasn’t supposed to come down.

The driver, Victor Cedeno-Solorzano, 35, of New Jersey, was taken to St. Luke’s Lehighton Campus with minor injuries.

Buck said the truck suffered excessive damage.

He said they remained on scene for two and a half hours.

Buck said also assisting were Palmerton Ambulance, Palmerton Fire Department, Lehighton Ambulance, All Points Towing, and Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, which inspected the truck.

He said citations are pending, as the matter remains under investigation.
