October 20, 1967 - Walt Konek carries 34 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns to lead Palmerton to a 21-13 Lehigh Valley League victory over Northampton. The Blue Bombers, coached by Jim Nonnemacher, open the scoring with a 23-play, 72-yard drive that ends with a Konek 2-yard TD. Palmerton converts two fourth downs on the long march. The winners tally again in the second frame on a 34-yard scoring pass from John Ondrasik to Stan Zuber. Konek later completes another long drive, this one 18 plays, with a 9-yard tally.
