Wendy’s may proceed with 443 project

A Wendy’s slated to open by the end of this year in Mahoning Township may continue with its project.

Supervisors last week unanimously agreed to have representatives from Wendy’s proceed with the project. The new date of approval is to begin on Wednesday.

The board’s action came after Wendy’s representatives stated there are no outstanding issues and they are ready to move forward with the continuation of its project on Route 443.

They told the board that all fees have been paid to the township, as well as future plans established after experiencing recent delays, pushing the fast food chain’s project back due to the project engineer’s failure to submit everything required.

Up until now, the county had only received preliminary plans. Supervisors had given Wendy’s conditional approval on Aug. 26. Additional permits were issued, and an inspection took place on Oct. 16.

Wendy’s stated they hope to have the restaurant construction completed by the end of this year.

The Wendy’s will be at 990 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive E.

The proposed land development is by Narendra V. and Dina N. Ambani, owners, and Wen-Lehighton Partners LLC, developers.

It calls for constructing a 2,735-square-foot restaurant at the site of the former Dr. Ambani’s office.

Demolition work has been underway since August.
