Rush Township polling place moved

The Schuylkill County Board of Elections approved a polling place change at its meeting Wednesday.

The board, made up of the three commissioners, approved a polling site change for the Rush Township East Precinct, which will now be at the Masonic Lodge on Shawn Street, Tamaqua. The site was formerly at The Hometown Fire Company.

The board also took other actions including hiring four resolution board members for the Schuylkill Transportation System building for Nov. 3 , 14 election rovers for the purposes of office preparation, logistics and accuracy for the election, hired five per diem employees and three additional ones.

The board also voted to hire 13 machine delivery drivers for the election. Six people were also hired to help out on election day to help with the computing board.

Deputies from the sheriff’s office will be at the Schuylkill Transportation System building to provide security.

The board thanked Al Gricoski, elections director, for his work ethic.

“We appreciate everything you are doing,” Commissioner George Halcovage Jr. said.
