Pa. 2-day total: 2,254 new cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed Monday 1,088 new cases, in addition to 1,166 new cases reported on Sunday for a two-day total of 2,254 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 173,304.

There were six new deaths reported Sunday and 18 new deaths reported for Monday, for a total of 8,368 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 23,953 resident cases of COVID-19, and 5,289 cases among employees, for a total of 29,242 at 1,007 distinct facilities in 61 counties.

Out of our total deaths, 5,552 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 11,345 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Carbon County is reporting 515 cases, 11 new cases. Deaths attributed to COVID-19 remain at 29.

Lehigh County is reporting 5,981 cases, an increase of 40. There is one additional death, bringing the total to 359 deaths.

Luzerne County reported an increase of 80 cases, bringing the total to 4,426. Deaths remain at 190.

Monroe County has 17 new cases, bringing the total to 1,875, with 134 deaths.

Northampton County has 4,864 cases, an increase of 44 cases. An additional death is reported for a total of 309.

Schuylkill County has 1,416 cases, an increase of 37. Deaths remain at 63.
