October 12, 1963 - George Mann collects 112 rushing yards and two touchdowns to help Jim Thorpe pull away from Cass Township for a 40-12 victory. Mann opens the scoring with a 2-yard TD run in the opening quarter and gives the Olympians, coached by Angie Konstas, a 13-0 halftime lead by reaching the end zone on an 18-yard second-quarter carry. Joe Butchko adds to the advantage with a 53-yard scoring burst, while Bill Dart contributes 74 yards on the ground and TD runs of two and eight yards. Thorpe finishes the scoring with a 25-yard pass from Rennie Shoop to Jon Weaver.
