October 9, 1981 - Tim Wireman rushes for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Pleasant Valley’s defense shuts down Lehighton in a 29-0 Centennial League victory. Wireman powers into the end zone on short runs of one and two yards, while quarterback Tom Conklin connects with Glenn Leidy on a 5-yard scoring toss. The Bears, coached by assistant Gary Bruch with their head coach Tony Caracio in the hospital, also receives a 1-yard tally from Chris Borger. Conklin runs for 68 yards, throws for 60 and also intercepts a pass. PV’s defense, led by Larry Carper, limits the Indians to just 87 yards of offense.
