Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, Sunday worship with Holy Communion, 9:30 a.m., in the parking lot situated behind the building. The bread wafer and communion container are presealed as a safe way to celebrate the sacrament. Attendees are requested to remain in their vehicles. The sound is broadcast over FM 87.9. For those who choose to bring a lawn chair and sit on the lawn, ushers will provide assistance designated for social distancing. Please wear a face mask for your safety and for those around you. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Joshua Krenz assists.

Since there are limited parking spaces and lawn size, a reservation is required on a weekly basis by the end of business hours each Thursday at 610-377-4303 or email telc1872@ptd.net. Worship bulletins will be printed according to the number of reservations received, and distributed upon entering the parking lot. A basket to receive offerings is provided A restroom in Luther Hall is accessible during the worship time; mask required upon entering the building.

The Sunday morning worship will be posted on facebook.com/TrinityLehighton after the live session has concluded.

Weekly Sunday school sessions start at 10:45 a.m. for students age 3 though sixth grade along Iron Street. The delayed-since-May Rite of Confirmation will be Oct. 25. Drive-thru classes to complete the confirmands’ instructions begin Sunday at 10:45 a.m. in the parking lot.

A “Drive-Thru” Blessing of the Animals in honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi will be held on Oct. 5 from 6-6:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lehighton. All in the congregation and the community are invited to drive through and have your pets blessed. If you have a photo or ashes of a deceased pet, Pastor Nancy Moore will offer a Prayer of Remembrance in their name.

Please enter the drive-thru by proceeding along Center Alley from South Street, turn right onto Iron street in front of Jack & Jill Preschool, and proceed forward from there. Our pets are family, and we offer this time of blessing to honor their companionship and unconditional love, thanking God, our creator, for giving them to us to know and to love. All are invited to attend.

The Thrift Store will reopen on Oct. 7. There are some changes: Shopping and donation drop-offs will be by appointment only. Please call 610-377-4471 on Mondays from 9-5 p.m. to schedule an appointment. The store will be open for shoppers with an appointment on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Fridays from 1-6 p.m. Drop-offs can be scheduled on Thursdays by appointment only. Masks and social distancing will be required. Due to limited space, no children under the age of 12 will be allowed. Further guidelines will be addressed. Your patience is appreciated.

The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday 5:30-7 p.m.) with a drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pickup. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
