September 25, 1989 - Pleasant Valley’s defense forces four turnovers, three of them interceptions, to help earn a 7-0 Centennial League victory over previously undefeated Notre Dame. Brian Yost picks off two passes, while Vinnie DeLuzio adds another for the Bears, coached by Donn Nicholas. The winners also receive a fumble recovery from Dreu Beers. Sloan Burnett comes up with big defensive plays to help end a ND scoring threat. He bats down a pass on third down and then combines for a sack on fourth. The game’s only score comes on a 3-yard touchdown run by Tom Walling.
