State police at Lehighton report on DUI cases

State police at Lehighton reported on several driving under the influence cases. Police did not release the names of those suspected to be driving under the influence.

• A traffic stop for a Motor Vehicle Code violation made by police at 2:01 a.m. Sept. 19 has resulted in the driver of the vehicle facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said they stopped the 2005 Toyota Sienna van at the intersection of White Street and Lehigh Alley and found the driver suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, making the arrest accordingly.

• Police said the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet that they stopped at 12:08 a.m. Sept. 5 at the intersection of Cherry Hill Road and Centre Street in Parryville is facing charges.

Police said the vehicle was stopped after the driver committed several traffic violations. Police said the driver was discovered to be driving under the influence of and in possession of controlled substances.

• Police said a traffic stop they made at 9:54 p.m. Aug. 17 at the intersection of Blue Mountain Drive and Appalachian National Scenic Trail in Lower Towamensing Township resulted in DUI and drug charges.

Police said they stopped the 2006 Nissan Altima after the driver committee traffic violations and discovered the driver to be in possession and under the influence of controlled substances.
