Two people were injured Monday evening when they were involved in a crash in West Penn Township. The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. in front of 1745 West Penn Pike (Route 309) just south of School Drive. The driver of a pickup traveling south may have suffered a physical or medical condition, causing him to drift over into the northbound lane. His truck struck a northbound car head-on. Both drivers were treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance before being transported to a hospital. West Penn Township police are investigating.
