September 14, 1984 - Lehighton’s Scott Freeman bats down a pass in the end zone as time expires to preserve an exciting 8-7 victory over Tamaqua. The Blue Raiders drive 79 yards to the Indian 1-yard line in just over a minute to try and pull out the win. The Lehighton defense stuffs a running play before Freeman comes up big on the final play. The winners, coached by Dave Parsons, use a 7-yard touchdown run by Tom Keer and a two-point conversion from Todd Steigerwalt late in the third quarter to gain the lead. Keer finishes with 99 yards rushing. Tamaqua’s tally comes on a 76-yard run by Glenn Comisac.
