State police at Lehighton report on incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on incidents investigated by troopers:

• On Sept. 3 at 3:40 a.m. a 53-year-old woman from Kunkletown, was drunk in public and trespassing on property along Blue Mountain View in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. The property is owned by a 36-year-old man from Lehighton. The woman, who troopers declined to identify, used a plastic baseball bat to shatter and break three windows on the property. She was charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

• On Sept. 2 at 4:40 p.m. troopers responded to AFD Lane, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, for a report of a domestic incident. It was determined that Brian Crawn, 50, of Kunkletown, physically assaulted a 54-year-old woman from Kunkletown during an altercation. Crawn was taken into custody and committed to the county prison in Snydersville on charges of simple assault and harassment.

• On Aug. 26 at 9 p.m. troopers made contact with Brandon Karl Kotara, 20, of Palmerton, in the parking lot of the Dollar General store, along Route 209, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Several indicators of criminal activity were observed. Kotara was found to be in possession of percocet, ecstasy pills and drug paraphernalia. An investigation revealed Kotara distributed ecstasy pills in the store parking lot. Charges were filed.

• On Aug. 28 at 1:25 a.m. troopers were dispatched to Interchange Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a report of a violation of a protection from abuse order. Upon arrival troopers made contact with Daniel Gillen, 26, of Kunkletown, who was in violation of the PFA involving a 58-year-old Kunkletown woman as the victim.

Gillen was taken into custody for criminal contempt, drug possession, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment. Charges have been filed.

• On Aug. 30 at 11:30 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle along Trach Road at Route 209 in Polk Township, for several traffic violations. The driver, Stephen Richard Lassel Jr., 30, of Lehighton, attempted to flee the stop but was taken into custody. Charges were filed.

• On Sept. 4 at 10:46 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted along Route 248 at White Street, in Lower Towamensing Township. The driver, a 45-year-old man from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, showed signs of impairment and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending test results.

• On Aug. 14 at 8:36 a.m. troopers responded to a residence at Evergreen Court, Ross Township, Monroe County, where a 50-year-old man from Saylorsburg, reported someone stole trash cans from his property.
