Due to the ongoing health and safety concerns with the COVID-19 virus, the 2020 Carbon County Senior Expo, which was slated to be held on Sept. 10 at the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company, is canceled for this year.

The event, hosted jointly by state Sen. John Yudichak, I-Luzerne/Carbon, and state Rep. Doyle Heffley, R-Carbon, since 2010 has been an important resource for Carbon County seniors to acquire information on local, state and federal programs, as well as receive health screenings and flu shot vaccinations from local health care providers.

Both Yudichak and Heffley would like to thank the events’ sponsors, vendors and volunteers, and the hope is that the event can continue in 2021.
