Tuesday update: 770 positives bring statewide total to 134,795

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed Tuesday that there are 770 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 134,795.

There are 7,691 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 18 new deaths reported.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 21,074 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,510 cases among employees, for a total of 25,584 at 930 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,192 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.

Approximately 9,665 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Locally, Carbon County has added one case for a total of 423 positives, with 28 deaths.

Lehigh County has 5,212 cases, an increase of eight cases. There are 343 deaths.

Luzerne County has 3,788 cases, an increase of 10 cases. There are 188 deaths.

Monroe County is reporting 1,716 cases, an increase of two cases, and 127 deaths.

Northampton has 4,120 cases, an increase of three cases. There is one additional death, bringing the total to 301.

Schuylkill County has 992 cases, an increase of five cases, with 51 deaths.
