COVID-19 precautions have prompted changes in the Schuylkill County Treasurer’s office.
Schuylkill County Treasurer Linda Marchalk announced recently that starting Monday the office is open by appointment only. It was open to the public as recently as Friday. Marchalk said the sale of over-the-counter doe licenses, which starts today in three wildlife management units, during the pandemic contributed to the new precautions. The pink regulation envelopes will be accepted by mail, she said.
“We want to limit people coming in and out of the courthouse,” she said.
The following services are mail-in only: lifetime and yearly dog licenses, over-the-counter doe licenses, small games of chance and bingo applications, tax collector reports and remittances and hotel tax reports and remittances.
The office will be open for appointment for services that cannot be done online or by the mail. Call 570-628-1433.
“I’m encouraging everyone to stay home, stay healthy and stay safe,” she said.
