11 new virus cases in Carbon; 384 statewide

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight that there are 384 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 124,844.

Philadelphia cases are not included in today’s statewide total because of reporting delays by Philadelphia County. Two-day totals for Philadelphia County will be included in tomorrow’s data release.

There are 7,468 total deaths attributed to COVID-19. There were no new deaths reported since August 16. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 20,413 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,244 cases among employees, for a total of 24,657 at 895 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,059 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 8,956 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Carbon County is reporting 11 new cases for a total of 397 cases. There are 28 deaths.

Lehigh County had 14 new cases for a total of 5,073, with 341 deaths.

There were 3,621 cases in Luzerne County, an increase of 23, with 185 deaths.

Monroe County was reporting six more cases, bringing the total to 1,669 cases and 125 deaths.

Northampton had 4,013 cases, an increase of 14 cases and 295 deaths.

Schuylkill County reported eight new cases, bringing the total to 950 cases, with 51 deaths.
