Police report on Schuylkill crashes

State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers in Schuylkill County:

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 11:33 a.m. on Tuesday along Interstate 81 in Kline Township. Troopers said Michele Skoutelakis, 31, of Hazleton, was driving a 2012 Ford Focus northbound in the left passing lane when the vehicle drifted onto the shoulder. Skoutelakis attempted to steer the car back onto the road and lost control. The car crossed over both northbound lanes and onto the shoulder where it struck an embankment and overturned onto its roof.

She had to be extricated from the vehicle by rescue personnel from the Tresckow and Hazle Township fire companies. She was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus, for evaluation, troopers said. She was cited for the crash.

• Another crash occurred on I-81 in Ryan Township on Aug. 7 about 2:56 p.m. Julio C. Lebron-Meran, 18, of Hazleton, was driving a 2015 Acura southbound during heavy rain when Lebron-Meran attempted to make a lane change and lost control of the vehicle. The Acura spun 90 degrees across both lanes of travel and then struck guide rail along the berm. The vehicle then slid along the guide rail and rotated 180 degrees. The vehicle came to rest facing west.

Lebron-Meran was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.

He was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed and driving without a valid license.

• Troopers investigated a crash about 4 p.m. on Aug. 4 along Route 54 in Ryan Township. Kristen King, 36, of Barnesville, was driving a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer eastbound while a 17-year-old male from Barnesville, driving a 1995 Ford Ranger truck, entered King’s lane of travel from a parked position off the south side of the road.

The front of the Lancer struck the rear driver’s side quarter panel of the Ranger.

King sustained a suspected minor injury and was treated at the scene by Mahanoy City ambulance personnel.

The teen driver was cited.
