Man charged with breaking into neighbor’s home and assaulting him

A Lansford man has been charged with breaking into his neighbor’s home and assaulting him.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Sgt. Shawn Nunemacher of the Lansford Police Department in the case against Boyd Teabo Jr.:

At 9:19 p.m. July 29, officers were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of East Snyder Avenue for an assault that had just occurred.

Nunemacher spoke with the caller, who said he was called by his neighbor and told to take his garbage out from the side of the building, which he said he would do.

The victim was putting on his shoes when Teabo, 43, entered his apartment without permission and cursed at him.

The victim said Teabo began striking him in the face, twice in the jaw area and once in the nose, which began bleeding.

The victim said that another man had witnessed the attack, and the victim stopped his nose from bleeding, cleaned off the blood and called police.

Nunemacher then spoke with the witness, who said he had to pull Teabo away from the victim, and that he did not witness Teabo strike the victim, but he did see that he was bleeding and that the victim’s glasses were on the ground.

Nunemacher contacted with Teabo at his residence and asked him about him striking his neighbor.

Teabo admitted to the incident and said he blacked out and was sorry. He said that he already apologized to the victim and believed he needed his medication changed.

Teabo also said he tried talking to people, but no one listens.

Teabo was asked if he wanted to go to the hospital and talk to someone, but he denied any need to go to the hospital.

Teabo Jr. faces charges of burglary; criminal trespass - break into structure; simple assault and harassment.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 monetary 10 percent bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Aug. 19 before District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek of Lansford.
