Sunday virus update: 760 new cases bring total to 118,852

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight that there are 760 additional positive cases of COVID-19 reported to the department, bringing the statewide total to 118,852.

There are 7,314 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 1 new death reported.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 19,968 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,153 cases among employees, for a total of 24,087 at 877 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 4,974 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 8,644 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Carbon County has two additional cases, bringing the total to 372, with 28 deaths.

In Lehigh County, there are 34 new cases for a total of 4,968, with 337 deaths.

Luzerne County is reporting 3,448 cases, an increase of 19, with 184 deaths.

In Monroe there are 10 new cases, bringing the total to 1,634, with 124 deaths.

Northampton County had 10 new cases, bringing the total to 3,928, with 292 deaths.

Schuylkill County had seven new cases. The total is 916, with 51 deaths.
