PPL gives grants to area nonprofits

The PPL Foundation’s sustaining grants program provides grants up to $25,000 to support education, workforce development and community revitalization initiatives.

The PPL Foundation announced over $500,000 in grants to 116 nonprofit organizations across central and eastern Pennsylvania to support education initiatives and strengthen community resources.

The initiatives and projects that received support through the PPL Foundation Sustaining Grant program include:

Communities in Schools of the Lehigh Valley

Employment Opportunity & Training Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania

Family Promise of Monroe County

Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania

Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA

Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania

Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers

Minsi Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity

Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network

Pocono Environmental Education Center

Pocono Mountains United Way

Pocono Northeast Development Fund

Pocono Services for Families and Children

Schuylkill Chamber Foundation

In support of Cover to Cover, the PPL Foundation’s initiative to improve child literacy through reading and summer learning programs, 19 grants were awarded, including:

Dimmick Memorial Library

Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library

Tamaqua Public Library
