The county Prison Board voted to fire an employee Wednesday during a special meeting.

After a 25-minute discussion on personnel, the board voted to terminate the employment of Lt. Thomas Fort effective Wednesday.

Acting Warden David Wapinsky said he could not comment on the action,

“It’s a personnel matter,” he said,

President Judge William E. Baldwin, chairman of the prison board, also would not comment.

Fort was hired April 25, 2016.
